My Review:

Since it was James and I's last day in Australia we decided to treat ourselves to brunch. We were staying in a lovely Airbnb in Lewisham, a pleasant and quiet suburb in Sydney. After doing a little research I found 'The Tiny GIANT' cafe located a mere 10 minute walk from us in neighbouring suburb Petersham. We briefly browsed their menu online and decided this was definitely up our street, with lots of whacky and wonderful looking food creations. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who allowed us to pick our seats. It was fairly quiet (time being around 1:30pm) and there was plenty of seating inside or outdoors. The decor was funky and hip, reminding me of some of the famous lane-way cafe's in Melbourne. We were served extremely quickly. The menu is relatively small but offers a great selection of different and unique food, from sweet to savoury. Lots of avocado, salmon, caperberries and other very popular combo's. After much oo-ing and ah-ing James settled on the Rainbow Mixed Berry Bagel and a gingerale and I ordered a New York Reuben and small flat white. Our drinks came very quickly, and our food not long after. Nothing makes me happier than a good coffee, and The Tiny Giant definitely have it down to a T. Beautiful coffee beans, a strong flavour but not overpowering, and the perfect drinkable temp. And of course pretty latte art. The small was, well, small, but it was just the right amount to satisfy my coffee cravings. As soon as our food was served, we knew we would probably spend more time taking photographs of it than eating. James' Rainbow Bagel was possibly the coolest thing I have ever seen; a food photographers dream. Berries, cream, decorative flowers, candyfloss, sauce and of course the colourful bagel itself. My dish was rather more discreet, but served aesthetically on a wooden board. I'm a sucker for shit like that! After an embarrassing amount of photos we tucked in. My sandwich was delicious. A mixture of corned beef, lettuce, gherkins, cheese and a tasty sauce or relish all served in a tasty sandwich and lightly toasty. Again, it appeared a little small but I was stuffed afterwards! Overall a really great combination of flavours., simple but perfect. James' beautifully decorated bagel didn't last long and was worth every penny. The fruit was fresh and zingy, and the bagel was baked to perfection - a little crispy on the outside but soft in the middle. On a whole we loved our brunch at The Tiny Giant; this place is a perfect spot for breaky or lunch if you're after great service and generally just something a little different, all for a reasonable price.
